We are a DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 accredited testing laboratory operating independently at our Gelsenkirchen site in Germany.
What we do:
- Physical / physical-chemical / chemical analyses of fuels, dusts, slags, ashes and limestone.
- Product analysis of concrete aggregates and special analyses such as X-ray fluorescence analysis / dynamic image analysis (particle size) / surface and porosity analyses.
- Recognised DIN CERTCO test laboratory for the certification of fuels and barbecue products.
In our other facilities in the North German ports of Nordenham and Hamburg we offer the following services:
- Determination of the weight of inland shipping cargoes
- Manual sampling of solid fuels
- Inspections of fuel stockpiles

We are an independent company consisting of four partners and ten employees who have been working together as a team for many years. All our employees (graduate chemists, chemical engineers, chemical laboratory assistants or chemical technicians) have 15 to 40 years of experience in our specialist fields. We adhere to the highest ethical standards, demonstrate transparency, and aim to create sustainability and added value.

By certificate dated 10.05.2019, the Gesellschaft für Konformitätsbewertung mbH confirmed the competence of Ruhr Lab GmbH to perform tests within the scope of the certification procedures of DIN CERTCO. Registration number: PL 248
Proficiency test 2919 on manual sampling, organised by DCC Delta Coal Control GmbH
Ruhr Lab GmbH participated most successfully in the round robin test on “Manual sampling of hard coal” organised by DCC Delta Coal Control GmbH on 21.05.2019 in Berlin.

Ruhr Lab GmbH supports the European industry association for manufacturers and distributors of barbecue equipment, fuels and lighting aids, and has been a member of the Barbecue Industry Association Grill e.V. since October 2019.
